Abstract:

Anthropogenic warming poses significant climate impacts on society, including temperature extremes, flooding, drought, and surface air pollutants. These changes threaten human health as well as public and private property, and change food production. To enhance climate resilience in New Jersey, it is crucial to study those extreme climate changes and to understand specific crop responses under different future climate scenarios. Through the extension programs, I plan to provide various services to stakeholders in New Jersey to be prepared for those potential threats and to develop adaptation plans to ensure climate and food production resilience in the future. Moreover, I will engage with the younger generation and communicate the importance of mitigating human-caused climate change to protect our planet.
