Wondering how you can start monitoring coastal change, apply available monitoring data, or use data to support long-term decisions?

First, Dr. Norbert Psuty, Professor Emeritus in Rutgers University’s Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences, will share how monitoring data can be easily collected to assess coastal change, using the example of a program implemented by the National Park Service in parks from Maine to Virginia.

Then, Pete McCarthy, Sandy Hook Unit Manager at Gateway National Recreation Area, will share how the results of this monitoring program are used at Sandy Hook to support management decisions that think beyond traditional coastal defense, preserving the Park’s multi-uses and increasing long-term resilience.
